Your model files never leave your device
This is the core of how ifcfiles.com works, so it goes first: the IFC files you open with our viewer and tools are processed entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly. They are not uploaded to our servers or to any third party. We cannot see them, store them, or recover them — when you close the tab, they are gone. You can verify this yourself in your browser's developer tools: no network request carries your file.
Information we do collect
Like most websites, we use analytics and advertising services that collect usage data:
- Analytics (Google Analytics 4): anonymous usage events — pages visited, tool used, approximate location from IP, device type. We use this to understand which tools are useful and where to improve. We do not receive your files or their contents; events never include file names or model data.
- Advertising (Google AdSense): the free tier is funded by ads. Google and its partners may use cookies to personalize them where you have consented. You can manage consent through the banner shown on your first visit, and read Google's practices at policies.google.com.
- Server logs: our hosting and CDN (Cloudflare) keep standard access logs (IP, URL, user agent) for security and abuse prevention, retained briefly.
Cookies and local storage
We use cookies only for the consent banner itself and the purposes above (analytics, advertising — subject to your consent choices). The site stores small UI preferences (such as theme) in your browser's local storage; these never contain model data and never leave your device.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and equivalent laws you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold — which, given the architecture above, is limited to analytics and log data. You can withdraw advertising/analytics consent at any time via the consent banner settings. For any privacy request, contact us at the address below.
Changes and contact
We will update this page if our practices change and adjust the date above. Questions: [email protected].
